Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment Course information

Course details

Our CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment course provides vital training for using portable firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and hose reels to control small workplace fires before they escalate. The course includes a theoretical overview of fire types, the triangle of combustion, and extinguisher identification, combined with a practical, hands-on session, using fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment to experience its correct application and handling.

We offer flexible, onsite delivery options for group bookings, in addition to regular monthly intakes for individual bookings. All emergency preparedness training is delivered by highly qualified, current industry emergency responders for learners to engage in real life scenarios and application of acquired skills and knowledge.

Additionally, this training may be delivered as a customised, non-accredited yet industry-recognised short course option with our same expert trainers and equipment to provide a more practical course option for those not required to hold the unit of competency. Our short course options still ensure competent knowledge and skills identifying and using portable firefighting equipment [non-award option can be completed in 2 hours in total]

Course Structure

This is a blended course with an online theory component (pre-reading and required foundation knowledge), plus a short yet comprehensive practical training and assessment session (approx. 3-4 hours face to face) ensuring participants are well-equipped to handle portable firefighting equipment in minor fire-related emergencies.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment.

Refresher training should be conducted every two years in line with industry standards to maintain knowledge and skills. Candidates completing this unit as a Refresher should notify Essential Training at time of booking.
