First Aid / CPR Training
Our nationally accredited First Aid / CPR course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to respond to emergencies or incidents, both in the workplace and community. This comprehensive course covers recognising and assessing an emergency, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and managing casualties in various situations.
Participants will learn how to use available resources and equipment, monitor casualties, and communicate effectively with emergency services, and incident reporting for a comprehensive first aid response.

Course Structure
Blended training and assessment delivered through a combination of self-paced e-learning and assessment, in addition to a face-to-face practical demonstration and assessment session.
All components are mandatory for successful course completion, as the theoretical component provides required foundation knowledge, complemented by practical training and assessment for hands-on application, using realistic scenarios to prepare learners for real-world emergencies.
Certification
First Aid: Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR
CPR only: Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 Provide CPR.
Certification is valid for three years, with the CPR component requiring annual refreshers in line with the ARC guidelines and industry standards.
Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training
Our Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course is a comprehensive five-day course designed for newly elected HSRs and deputies to develop the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020. This course is designed and accredited by the Work Health and Safety Commission, covering vital topics like applicable workplace safety regulations, effective consultation, risk management, inspections, and notifiable incidents.
Public Courses are held monthly at the CCIWA Member Hub in the Perth CBD, and we also offer flexible onsite delivery for group training sessions if required.

HSR Refresher Training
Our HSR Refresher Training is a one-day course designed for Health and Safety Representatives who have previously completed the initial 5-day training. This refresher provides updates on recent changes to WHS legislation in Western Australia, reinforcing key responsibilities such as risk management, workplace inspections, and representing employees in safety matters.
Mandatory Requirement
Under the WHS Act, HSRs must undertake refresher training annually or at least every two years to maintain their qualifications and skills.

Course Structure
Delivered over five (5) consecutive days, the course includes practical learning to ensure participants can monitor WHS risks, identify and resolve issues, and communicate confidently within their workplace.
Certification
Participants who complete all 5 days successfully receive a Certificate of Attendance, equipping them with the industry recognition to undertake all HSR duties effectively and compliantly, in addition to a solid foundation to pursue further studies in WHS.

Fire Warden Workshop Series
Enhance your fire safety skills with our Fire Warden & Fire Extinguisher Workshops tailored for small businesses managing general occupants. This hands-on training empowers nominated Chief Wardens, Area Wardens, Floor Wardens, Fire Wardens, any Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) members to understand their roles and responsibilities in preparing for, and handling, fire and smoke related incidents and emergencies confidently.
Our comprehensive yet condensed training focuses on the real-life and applicable knowledge and skills required in the workplace covering:
- Warden/ECO roles and responsibilities
- Fire and smoke threats and risks
- Alarm raising and emergency response
- Emergency Evacuation Procedures
- Assembly Area Review
- Use of portable firefighting equipment including hands-on practice with real extinguishers
- Handing over to Emergency Services

Course Structure
Developed and delivered by real-life emergency responders, this workshop combines theory and practical simulations, covering vital areas of emergency preparedness incorporating fire and smoke hazards, evacuation protocols, and hands-on use of extinguishers. In just 2.5 hours, participants will feel well informed and prepared to assess fire/smoke related incidents and emergencies and take appropriate actions in accordance with workplace emergency response procedures.
Certification & Delivery
Get certified with industry compliant, high-impact training designed to fit your busy schedule. Workshop content is regularly updated to ensure currency with Australian Standards (AS3745-2010), to support your organisation in maintaining compliant training and information to ECO members. A Certificate of Completion is issued to all participants who successfully complete the training and engage in the practical activities.
To note: Although this training closely aligns to the units CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment and PUAFER005 Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation, this course is not nationally accredited training and no formal assessment is conducted, however, this training is compliant with the Australian Standards and is industry-recognised
Comprehensive (Nationally Accredited) Emergency Control Organisation Training
Elevate your emergency response capabilities with our combined Emergency Control Organisation training. This accredited course combines the units Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation (PUAFER005) and Lead an Emergency Control Organisation (PUAFER006), providing a comprehensive skill set for both leadership and operational management in emergency situations.

Certification & Delivery
Successful completion of course content and assessment leads to dual certification (Statement of Attainment) for PUAFER005 and PUAFER006. Delivered at our central Perth campus.
First Attack Firefighting Training
Our First Attack Fire Fighting course provides vital training for using portable firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and hose reels to control small workplace fires before they escalate. The course includes a theoretical overview of fire types, the triangle of combustion, and extinguisher identification, combined with a practical, hands-on session, using fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment to experience its correct application and handling.
We offer flexible, onsite delivery options, in addition to various non-accredited yet industry-recognised short course options with our same expert trainers and equipment to provide a more practical course option for those not required to hold the unit of competency. Our short course options still ensure competent knowledge and skills identifying and using portable firefighting equipment [non-award option can be completed in 2 hours in total].

Course Structure
This is a blended course with an online theory component (pre-reading and required foundation knowledge), plus a short yet comprehensive practical training and assessment session (4 hours face to face) ensuring participants are well-equipped to handle portable firefighting equipment in minor fire-related emergencies.
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment.
Refresher training should be conducted every two years in line with industry standards to maintain knowledge and skills. Candidates completing this unit as a Refresher should notify Essential Training at time of booking.

We offer flexible, onsite delivery options, in addition to various non-accredited yet industry-recognised short course options with our same expert trainers and equipment to provide a more practical course option for those not required to hold the unit of competency.
